Description: The Genke family has Italian roots stretching from
Sicily to the Piedmont. With a helping hand from
their formaggiaia (Italian for female cheesemaker),
Alessandra Trompeo, they take inspiration from small
Italian farmstead cheesemaking. Their local milk is
produced by two small family-owned dairies who raise
their goats and cows with the greatest care and highest
standards. Their dedication to family, hard work, and
great food are the soul of Boxcarr Handmade Cheese,
and they hope you’ll taste that in every bite.
