Fig Chocolate Truffles

Fig Chocolate Truffles Recipe

Ingredients:

6 ounces semi-sweet chocolate
4 ounces heavy cream
2 ounces minced dried figs
Powdered sugar or cocoa powder for rolling

Recipe Description:

“Truffles are so easy to make and extremely versatile - you can experiment with different liquors and toppings. An array of toppings can make a beautiful display. The finished truffles will keep for several days in the refrigerator so they can easily be made well ahead of time.”

Directions:

1. Place the semi-sweet chocolate in a medium sized heat-safe bowl.
2. In a small saucepan set over medium heat, bring the cream to a simmer.
3. Pour the hot cream over the chocolate and let it sit for a minute. Mix the chocolate and cream until smooth. Add figs and stir.
4. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let the ganache chill in the fridge for at least 2 hours.
5. Line a baking sheet with foil. Scoop a tablespoon of the chocolate mixture into your hand and roll into a 3/4-inch ball. Repeat until there is no more chocolate in the bowl. This will get messy and the balls may not be perfectly round, but that is okay.
6. Roll in sugar or cocoa. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
