Honduras Finca Mogola
Don Manuel Castaneda produces more than 300,000 pounds of coffee annually in the mountains surrounding Marcala, located in West Central Honduras. Finca Mogola and Finca Musula are two of the largest farms in the country, amounting to 163 acres of coffee-producing land. The farms are surrounded by 152 acres of conservation land full of forests, wild animals, and plants native to the region. Manuel’s hard work has resulted in an infratructure allowing him to have full control of the quality of his production – from harvest to drying to storage. The coffee is managed sustainably without the use of chemical pesticides, with all of the coffee cherries made into compost. Large sun drying patios of Catuai, Bourbon, and Typica coffee varieties, some of the oldest varieties in Honduras.
