Tailgate Party

Tailgate Party

The next few days are ones that we at Southern Season look forward to every year: UNC’s Family Weekend reunites students with loved ones, and us with loyal guests we sometimes see only a few times each year. Add in a home football game, and it just doesn’t get much better.

We’re eager to see everyone this weekend and have planned some irresistible deals.

If you prefer to take your meal on the go, be sure to check out the new take-out Tailgate Menu at the deli. We got delectable wings, ribs, fried chicken, deviled eggs, chili and pimento cheese, plus an array of Southern sides that are worth cheering about. And if you want to wet your whistle, stop by the wine and beer department for a new Grab-and-Go 12-pack. Currently featuring a mix of Durham-made Fullsteam Paycheck Pilsner and Sound Czech Pilsner from Georgia’s Terrapin Beer Co., it is $28.99 and comes loaded into a reusable insulated Southern Season cooler.

For those of you who prefer to create your own tailgate magic, we’re featuring Charleston’s Food for the Southern Soul Blackjack barbecue sauce and shrimp marinade, our own zesty Southern Season Habanero Peanuts, and a great new low price on Zing Zang Bloody Mary Mix. If you thought Zing Zang was the best darn mix for making Bloody Mary’s before, you’ll like it ever more at just $5.99 a bottle (or 10% case discount).

Additionally, if you’d like to get some tips for an expert to up your tailgate game, note that Cooking School favorite Debbie Moose returns on October 3 with Score a Tailgate Touchdown. Author of Fan Fare: A Playbook of Great Recipes for Tailgating or Watching the Game at Home and other cookbooks, Moose’s menu includes: Roasted Sweet Onion and Garlic Dip; Tandoori Touchdown Wings with Mint-Mango Chutney; The Devil Made Me Do It Deviled Eggs, and Sweet Potato Ham Biscuits.
