Heinz Eifel Shine Riesling
This drier-styled Riesling is bright, fruity and floral with crisp acidity and clean flavors of apple, pear and peach that compliment its stony minerality and earthy complexity. It serves well as an aperitif and matches a wide variety of foods, like lighter salad dishes, shellfish, cream sauces and also anything with a touch of spice.
Heinz Eifel founded the Römerhof winery (Roman Yard) in 1979 in the heart of the Mosel Valley in Trittenheim. With the help of his daughter Anne Eifel-Spohr, who assumed the role of winemaker in July, 2000 after gaining a diploma in oenology from Geisenheim University, the family set out to produce a brand of top-quality wines that reflect the distinctive character of the vineyard sites. The idea behind their collaboration was to pay respect to tradition while incorporating the inspiration of the young winemaker. Slightly sweet, with bright, crisp flavors of green apple, pear, and peach. Best served chilled, and can be enjoyed before a meal, or with spicier Asian cuisine.

Delicious - Very SmoothI'm so glad that I purchased it last week when I was at the store. The person (wish I had his name) in the wine department was very attentive and thoughtful. I shared a 'taste' that I was trying to find. He shared information on Shine, and I bought two bottles. Soooo wish I had purchased a case. The best Riesling I've tasted - EVER!
