Tasting: Shop Sauce

Stop by Saturday, March 29 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. to sample Shop Sauce, made from a secret family recipe that has been perfected over 25 years. More than a simple barbecue baste, Shop Sauce is incredibly versatile and can be used as a marinade for meats, a dipping sauce for veggies or as an ingredient in recipes. Keith Smith of the Pete Smith Automotive Group is the creator of Shop Sauce. Smith’s father founded the Pete Smith Garage in 1947, near Louisburg, North Carolina. In the beginning, the business used a tree limb to hoist cars for repairs. Since then, the Smith family automotive business has organically grown into its own group of garages and repair shops. When the Smith family isn’t working with cars, they’re firing up the grill. With each batch or barbecue sauce Smith made, he poured a some of the original sauce into the next version of his recipe. After receiving rave reviews on the homemade recipe over the years, the Smith family decided to bottle their sauce and make it available at their automotive service business. Now the sauce is being made available at other locations, and they are very excited to continue sharing their love of food and fellowship with more people. Stop by the Tasting Station to sample and savor the High Octane and Low Octane flavors from Shop Sauce! This is a free event; no purchase or registration is required.
