Southern Season will open its new smaller-format Taste of Southern Season store in downtown Charleston at 10 a.m. Thursday May 26th. The 2,000+-square-foot shop is located at 139-A Market Street.
“We’re excited about bringing the best of Southern Season to downtown customers and visitors,” says Teresa Troutman, general manager for the Charleston area stores including the 43,000-square-foot, 80,000-item Southern Season store at 730 Coleman Boulevard in Mount Pleasant. “Customers will find a wide selection of Lowcountry and Southern regional products and gifts, and we will provide free delivery of other items – including deli sandwiches and catered meals – from the Mount Pleasant store to the peninsula.”
Shoppers at the Charleston Taste store will enjoy opportunities to sample gourmet nibbles and enter drawings for premium giveaways this weekend, including a gift basket loaded with South Carolina products and a years’ worth of free classes at the Southern Season Cooking School in Mount Pleasant.
Additionally, Saturday is one of a series of Food Lovers Saturday customer appreciation events scheduled through June. At both locations, single-transaction sales of at least $100 (pre-tax) are eligible for a 20 percent discount. As part of the Ask the Experts demonstration of cookware and kitchen tools at the Tasting Station in Mount Pleasant, a drawing will be held for a Le Creuset Buffet Casserole valued at $179.99.
The new Charleston store is modeled on the successful debut Taste, which opened May 2015 in Raleigh, North Carolina’s Cameron Village. By eliminating excess space and focusing on the most popular local and regional products, it quickly achieved success in a highly competitive area when paired with our larger stores nearby. The Charleston Taste store will be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday-Saturday, and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
